Representing your registration

The Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) since September 2015. Like all accredited registers, the RCT is reassessed every year against the PSA’s standards.

As an RCT registrant, you can use the RCT accredited register logo, for example in your email signature or on your organisation’s website.

The PSA’s guidance for people on an accredited register is:

Do:

  • Tell your service users, commissioners or employers that you are on a register accredited by the PSA.
  • Use the phrase ‘I am on a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority’.
  • Explain that the government set up the accredited registers programme to improve standards and public safety.
  • Explain that being on an accredited register shows your commitment to high professional standards, safety and a better service.
  • Once the RCT has notified you, display the accreditation mark where appropriate – in your premises, on your masthead, in your email signature and on your website.

Don’t:

  • Mislead anyone about what accreditation means.
  • Claim that you are accredited by the PSA. It is the register that is accredited; you are on an accredited register.
  • Claim that any treatment or service you provide is endorsed by the PSA or by the government.
  • Display the accreditation mark before the RCT has notified you.
  • Continue to use the accreditation mark if you leave the register.

Using the accredited register logo

You can use the accredited register mark as set out in the PSA guidance above. The PSA restricts how it is used, so if you need it in another format, email enquiries@therct.org.uk.

Promoting the register in your workplace

The RCT has produced a leaflet, a certificate and a poster for you to display in your department. They tell people about the RCT and the essential work of clinical technologists. They are free of charge. To receive hard copies, email enquiries@therct.org.uk.
