The standards for joining the RCT are set out in two documents. The Scopes of practice lists the specialised tasks you must be competent to carry out, and the Clinical technology degree syllabus describes the knowledge those skills are based on.
If you apply through the primary route, your training provider will have assessed you against these standards as part of an approved course. If you apply through the equivalence route, the RCT assesses your portfolio against its equivalence standards for engineering or physics, depending on your area of work, together with Good Scientific Practice. These equivalence standards match the scopes of practice.
